1) PCs can take up as many assignments as they have time and energy for and expertise in! Everyone in the Basecamp is overworked, underpaid and spectacularly exhausted — if Sam would like to join Team Exhaustion, he is more than welcome to it! Anywhere he feels he could viably contribute will welcome him with open arms. The issues may start arising when his shifts either conflict with each other, and it may lead to him alienating some of the departmental heads if he's not careful! So we would advise caution and transparency on his behalf as he approaches people.
2) Sam's approach to Rémi might have earned him a brownie point or two (he's just so gosh-darned congenial) but he isn't in the mood to budge. Luckily, Sam covered all the points that he would have asked about (namely the ones regarding trust and skill) so he isn't going to have much reason to argue or challenge Sam in any way. Instead, he's just going to tell him to get himself over to Medical if he thinks he's 'so fucking useful' and put in a few shifts dealing with the men, women and nonbinary souls getting chewed up by the meat grinder that is Ethyraia, all without the help of fancy acid resistant tech or drones. He'll look at this as teaching Sam a lesson — but if Sam complies, it will make Rémi more likely to respect him down the line!
