[ Alex has been putting aside about half of what's on his plate and giving it to a creature curled up on his lap. Crow has himself tucked small and housecat-like as possible, but the fact that he has a beak and feathered wings is a bit hard to miss. The animal's scent is, unsurprisingly, somewhere between avian and feline, and it must groom itself fastidiously, since only lingering traces of the hatch-goo still cling, dried and stuck to some of his harder-to-reach feathers and undercoat. ]

Hopefully. I've got them convinced not to put this guy on the menu so far by the argument that he's more useful than edible. [ And kind of necessarily for the resident wildlife expert's emotional stability. Alex isn't hesitating to eat, but he is pausing pretty often between bites to pet the cooing cat-bird. The familiar, heavy weight in his lap might be anything but normal, but Crow is his normal right now, and he's keeping what he has left of that close to him. ]
