When the relevant plumbing had been installed, quite hastily, someone working with the outflow had confused some measurements. The full diameter of a pipe and the diameter of the inside of a pipe are very different things and the two do not neatly fit together, but this unknown amateur plumber hadn't been able to work out how to reconcile them and had just bound them together with thick tape, which has been added to repeatedly over the years. The drips were caught in a bucket which was emptied erratically, and that whole area is full of weird rusty growths like short spiky hairs as tiny native flora thrives in the heat and damp. It is disgusting.
So there's a cloud of oddly-scented steam, and Mops coming out of it wiping her forehead with a heavy wrist. The steam has been irritating her eyes, making the blood vessels show more so that the whites are gray-black, much darker than the odd shining blue of her irises.]
