This is when Alex starts to realize he isn't sure how long he's been here. He wades a few feet deeper into the water, feeling it pass between his fingers without even a hint of acid burn.
"I'm not sure we're really here. Physically, I mean." He frowns, looking down at his chest where the pain is fading away. His cousin Sarah's telepathic contact was always stronger with skin contact- maybe this was some equivalent to that. Or maybe it was more like a snake flicking its' tongue at him- trying to decide whether or not he was food. At least he's used to feeling edible- maybe that says something about his life choices, he isn't sure. "This feels like the platonic ideal of a type of environment than a real place." A pause, more thought. "I think I remember going to bed. Huh. Lucid dreaming. Wonder if this has happened to any of the crew, or if it's just for the egg gang."
