[ He ends up having to step away for a minute, and from somewhere nearby there's a harsh whistle, muffled by the crowd, and maybe a wall or two.

When he comes back, it's clear by what he meant by "something like a" large bird. The animal is equal parts cat and raven, with a solid black beak and shiny feathers blending into long charcoal grey-to-black fur. Unlike a bird, he has four feet- the back two are paws, and the front two bear very sharp-looking talons. He tilts his head curiously at the wolf, and makes a chuffing sound.

Church griffins will follow wolves around in the wild, eating carrion from the scraps they leave, if Alex remembers correctly. Packs and flocks will sometimes grow used to each other, especially when prey is plentiful. Buuuut church griffins don't exist everywhere wolves do, so Alex keeps the animal perched on his shoulder, putting a hand to his fuzzy chest to signal him to stay there. ]

This is Crow. He doubles as a scout and can harry some larger prey long enough to distract it, usually. He can track familiar people, too- when he's given the incentive, anyway. [ [ He is partially morphologically feline, after all. ] ]
