He knows that the White Walkers are real, the Night King is real, he had found himself first in New Amsterdam and then here, and he had found himself with powers, shared dreams, a soft blue glow sometimes. Maybe there is no truer way to tell it.
“I heard he killed a god, shattered it trying to cross worlds, and that’s what caused it. I don’t know whether or not to believe it, but it’s what I was told. I know it sounds mad. If I had not come from another world, I wouldn’t believe they were real.”
He does not add the rest of it yet: that part of that god is said to be in him. Thinking of it makes him feel a little like he had when he woke from death - They are making too much of me. Better to call it a little piece of a god resting in his care than to think of himself as something other than human.
