I find it funny that a ship, carrying these many people, with clear intentions of settling elsewhere - and having spent a lot of funding in it - would end up this way.

The route ought to have been routine, don't you think? If you were moving to a new house, for example, you'd map out the neighbourhood and know the way from your work to your house. Now, granted, this is space - and anything can happen out there.

I just find it grim that this is how they ended. Making a home out of a planet they never wanted to be in. I'm a paranoid man, however.
