Here's a hungry hamster as thanks for your eggcellent question.
1) The slime will taste like uncooked egg whites with a sort of coppery aftertaste. It would not make you sick if you licked or imbibed it when it was fresh, but given that the Egg Goop post-hatching has been stomped around in and has had dirt and foreign particulate tracked into it, we would strongly advise against scooping up a handful and chowing down after the fact! The warm temperatures in the Basecamp would also turn it a bountiful bacterial soup within hours of 'hatching'.
The Adamant's survivors would also be extremely weirded out if they had to treat someone for Egg Goop Induced Dysentery (you're on a foreign planet! why are you licking things! that isn't how we do science!!) and your character would definitely gain a rep as 'That One Weirdo Who Will Lick Anything'. There may be whispering in corners... people might cross to the other side of the (metaphoric) street to avoid the Mad Licker...!
(We are exaggerating (exeggerating?) slightly, but feel free to have fun and play around with this if you go that route!)
2) The medical inspection is indeed just an ordinary check-up! Nothing invasive. The medical team won't push the issue on obtaining blood and urine samples to test, even.
