[ Alex shrugs his shoulders and shakes his head. The arrangements of their ages in relation to his own meant he was a little more naturally close with Verity than Antimony (with Antimony being a little hyperaware of it and more than a little resentful), but he'd still do anything either of them needed him to in a heartbeat.

Then he hears the word "theme." And callsigns. He thinks about the robot. Speaking of his sisters, this enough like Annie's comics that he has some 4-color visions of himself in spandex and winces. ]

I'm alright with nicknames, but I made a pretty binding promise to myself about never wearing a costume again if I can help it after I gave up historical re-enactment groups. [ He hadn't wanted to join in the first place, but his college fencing team had gotten into the school paper, and that was enough for him to have to find somewhere lower-profile to keep learning swordsmanship. The Covenant keeps an eye on just about every martial art and professional sport to monitor them for disguised cryptids and potential recruits. The SCA though? No one ever expects the Society for Creative Anachronism. ]
