As for magick... maybe she didn't mean it literally, but Merrin could definitely teleport freely on her planet, but to a different planet? Probably not. But could he deny the possibility of someone or something being able to do it? Even if it isn't magick, the Force is certainly mysterious enough.
But he's not about to start talking about the Force. ]
The only way to travel from planet to planet is on a ship. At least, that's how it works when I come from.
