[ The bridge. There are a lot of echoes in the Force here, but Cal doesn't reach out for them just yet—he's been pretty reluctant to touch things this entire time, and the memories that he has picked up from brief contact have been strangely opaque and distorted.

It's probably for the best, honestly. The feeling he gets from this place is like a tomb—and he's been to more than a few of those.

Instead, he looks around the room, almost hoping to find a scomp link socket on one of the consoles. Not that it will do much good, since the power is dead, but it would let BD-1 connect directly to the ship's computer. ]


Yeah, it should've. Something must've gone wrong. Something unexpected. [ Or so he hopes. The other options would involve incompetence or sabotage, and both sound far less appealing than a terrible accident. ]

Something like that happened in my galaxy, a couple hundred years ago. A ship carrying settlers to the Outer Rim crashed into another ship while they were in a hyperspace lane, which shouldn't have even been possible. A lot of people died.

[ The Jedi were brought in to help with the situation, which impacted dozens of systems, and which is why he knows the story. He doesn't look Vidar's way as he continues in a quiet voice: ] At least some of them survived.
