She'd been in the Navy, but it's not quite the same thing. She doesn't look at her people and see soldiers the way she would have fifteen years ago.
"The Doc does what she can. But the only trained counsellors we had died in the crash. We encourage... talking. I think you'd probably call it group therapy. Every other Sunday. And we have a few people who are studying what they can from Cartagena's databases, but it's slow-going given how little free time we have. It's a whole lot of people doing their best when their best isn't enough." This doesn't sound like a scathing critique, just the worn-down honesty of someone who knows they're fighting a losing battle.
