"I have to admit, Captain, that I wasn't raised to be particularly comfortable around law enforcement or military organizations, but given the circumstances, I think the best chances for survival here is to pool resources wherever possible. If your crew doesn't mind someone who has a lot of catch-up reading to do, I'm willing to consult your crew on anything you or they feel would benefit from my input; be it related to my field of study or... unorthodox upbringing."

And spending time with the crew should help him figure out if he's camping out with interstellar war criminals or not. Feeling the need to add something a bit diplomatic to his offer, he adds, with a small smile; "Honestly, just getting to hear people call me 'Doctor Price' instead of my latest assumed surname is enough of a novelty it should be worth giving up a little spare time now and then."
