Regarding your questions— 1.) The sinkholes can be explored by something or someone on the smaller side. These burrows and tunnels are not very well-made, and they're mostly caving in, so you can't trace them back very far. However, it would be immediately apparent to anyone with moderate civil engineering knowledge (or the ability of an AI to make such an assessment) that the soil integrity under a large portion of the basecamp is compromised by them. Redwing (or anyone else who goes exploring) would also likely notice that they head in the general compass direction of the rat warrens, indicating the creatures were spooked out of that region.
2-4.) Any powers/abilities conferred by a character through supernatural means or through a metal that we have flagged as a special metal (like vibranium) can affect the critters, but please don't treat any of these as a silver bullet to eliminate the conflict and difficulty of engaging the beasts individually. They are numerous and strong, and even against exceptional means, they should put up quite the fight.
5.) People can absolutely proactively volunteer with Security. That said, Rémi will be making his call to action the same day that the creatures emerge, so there won't be a considerable delay. (Note: there will not be a network post from Rémi, and that message won't actively solicit support, only inform the populace of the extermination plan.)
On the subject of the closed-door meeting, Childe will hear him out, and agree that it's a reasonable proposition given that the Thessyx visit seems to be triggered by the Hatchlings. While Childe will encourage Sam to discuss among the Hatchlings who would be best suited, we WILL let you know — for fairness' sake, on the modly end we will be RNGing any candidates put forth for this so we cannot guarantee any spots!
