The Adamant's survivors are grateful for any shared food and it seems to abate some of their increasing resentment of the hatchlings' specialness.
As for the closed door meeting, we will be RNGing slots from interested players shortly after the June 16th deadline, so watch this space. Steve Rogers has made an IC network post to discuss this point, but we see you've already hopped in!
The thessyx will not be offended by Alex's curiosity — just the opposite! They are highly flattered to be so well-regarded by and interesting to a Child of the Leviathan. He will be able to draw soem conclusions based on his experiences as a herpetologist — he'll recognize that they are sensitive to light and dehydration and that's why they avoid alcohol and similar gifts. He'll recognize that they are designed for long-term subterranean/underwater living. If you have any specific questions you're curious about, feel free to ask.
As for the critters, the thessyx very clearly regard them as a natural part of the landscape, no different than a storm. They are just a part of life on Ethyraia! If Alex dissects them, he'll have a hard time getting through the hide.
Should he manage somehow, either via vibranium or laser or some other means of super-powerful slicing, he'll find that the creatures are largely set up to be carnivorous. Their bodies are designed to stockpile a lot of food at once, then burrow and hibernate. He may also notice that under their armored hides, they're very sensitive! So if he has a good way to subvert the hides, or something they can ingest, it'd likely work better than trying to blast through the hide on each of them in an extermination effort.
