Updated plan: Matthias will be leading the animals he can calm out of the base as far as possible, if they start coming back through the sinkhole entrance, he will still be committed to getting them out of the way while Engineering fixes that issue. He will avoid shooting them as much as he can and likely will actively interfere with anyone aiming for that end.
