He's lucky that he ended up on the same side as her, away from the heat, and while he's frankly astonished to see such a display of power, he doesn't startle from it, nor does he flinch away from the flames. He simply rises to his feet, dusting himself off and taking a calm step further back, standing parallel with her. ]

[ The beast, for all its bluster, is getting cooked alive. You know, slowly, thanks to all that heavy-plate armor. For what it's worth, Illumi speaks up to be heard above the creature's cries, keeping his eyes on the beast's movements as it thrashes around violently and backwards - his own hand raises in a similar fashion to hers. ]

[ As he speaks, a sinister energy emits off from him, potent and thick - and as it grows, the bones in the beast's face begin to warp this way and that, particularly the eye socket surrounding that special needle (which, oddly enough, seems unaffected by the heat.) This seems to further incapacitate it, it's shrieks giving way more to pain than to anger; it seems more interested in trying to dust off the flames with more dirt from the sinkhole than take any further swipes at them, as it stands. ]
