They told me the Leviathan shaped this very world with a flood. They believe it's all powerful, so the religious angle makes a lot of sense.

But they said there's no story in their culture of the Leviathan bringing "hatchlings" to this world. So maybe they're as surprised as we are, or maybe they're lying.

[The gifts and stuff to appease them may be more to appease the Leviathan, if it's the type of deity to expect gifts for itself or its "offspring".

That being said, Trish doesn't think telepathic beings can be surprised. Especially since their odd little group has been here for a few weeks. They've had time to think about what to do in response, and what they want out of the hatchlings. Maybe they want nothing but to make their god happy, or maybe there's something else just under the surface.]
