WHO: Zhongli and Vidar
WHAT: Zhongli and Vidar team up to get something beneficial done, and return to the shipwreck in order to get their hands on one of the seed vaults.
WHEN: Backdated to sometime during the third week of July
WHERE: The Adamant, natch.
NOTES/WARNINGS: TBA later when/if they come up.
[all throughout their meeting before entering the ship, zhongli has to work hard to his eyes away from vidar's massive machine, head full of questions, wanting to ask-- what is it? how is it controlled? what is its purpose?-- but knowing they're not important. the details and the knowledge are not important to this mission, and thus he manages to keeps his curiosity down. what he can do later, he can do later, after all, so what reason is there to rush?
right as they enter the adamant however, zhongli is reminded of how dark it is, and pats his pockets to look for a specific item in them to help with visibility.]
This is a flashlight, is it not? [zhongli shakes the device in his hand, feeling it up and down to look for the raised part large enough for a finger's push. that's how he remembers it being used during demonstration, at least.] If not... ah, well, it's too late to go back now, but I'll have to defer to your methods, and for you to guide me should we find any trouble.
[alas, he still cant summon his cube. it would have been a good, hands-free source of light in this dark, dark ship.]

I wouldn't have asked otherwise. Even if it's just for the company. This isn't exactly the liveliest of places.
[ and it's not exactly the most exciting, too. the adamant was largely a quiet wreck, the giant crater letting in everything else the planet has to offer in this side of it. vidar punches a hole through a wall and tears it open; in the process of doing so, several ant-like creatures run down the sides and disappear into the dark with a sound like hissing. gross. ]
You're doing fine, however? I guess I should've asked that before twisting your arm to hang out with me in this place.

I've been here before, albeit for the briefest of moments-- I didn't have anything to light up my surroundings, so I had to cut my visit short.
If anything, I should be glad to have you around to help me.

I've heard of some people making plans to map it out. It might be worth it.
[ though he doesn't really know how much can they still salvage from the adamant itself. three years that it's been stuck here, people have combed through it intensely to find resources.
vidar opens a room on the side, to have zhongli check it. it's dark, so the gundam flashes the lights downwards to illuminate the path though it won't be able to shine it right through. ]

Nothing inside, except for some rubble. Perhaps whatever was in here was taken away long ago.

[ they'll try another room, then. this time vidar recalls parts of it that he'd gone to, a long time ago with cal, and takes another route down the side of the massive ship. they cross a rather rickey bridge, and he takes the time to make it sturdy by welding a few pieces of metal to secure it in place. easy enough.
another room is opened and the door carefully set aside, this one seemingly full of wires hanging overhead. ]
Watch your step.

No worries. [he gives vidar a nod, even if he's unsure about whether or not the man can see it from here.]
If something happens, I'll be able to protect myself. I believe I have some of my powers back, now.
[then he hops into the room, ducking underneath the wires. it's like being in a jungle again!]

[ and then he does a strange thing: he makes the gundam essentially lie down and peek into the door. if it were a child-sized robot it would be even more comical. ]
How's the light?

then he turns, a smile lighting up his face when he sees the vision just beyond the door.]
It's fine, my friend. You don't need to worry. [and he walks up to vidar and his machine, and gives it a pat on the face.]
